The AI dilemma

a rant by: Jay Mitchell

ai has single handedly wrecked creativity, writing and poetry, poetry is meant to have meaning and soul, not to be written by a robot, think of what Shakespeare would say or sylvia Plath, or Edgar Allan Poe. this is my opinion, but i would rather spend hours in my room thinking of what to write, than put my writing in a machine to “improve” it, when its really just watering it down, id rather have a human being like a teacher help edit my writing, because i suck at punctuation. In my opinion ai is the problem, it makes people lazy, i mean if your partner gave you an ai generated poem, how would you feel, would you rather have your partners feeling translated into words, or some robot generated crap.

its the same thing with kids youtube videos, AI feeds kids disturbing and just plain weird content, like one of the most disturbing things i have seen is a real situation of a person being shot with an ai minion filter on, what if a child searched up minion and that’s what they found, ai can be just an excuse to post inappropriate things, and just slap an filter on it to make it look like kids content, which is also why parents should monitor what their children watch, and not let them have unsupervised internet access, take my generation for example, most gen z were left unsupervised with the internet and look how we turned out, so desensitized about things that should be concerning, like the environment around us, or just a lack of empathy. anyway main thing, don’t talk to ai like a human, its not a sentient being, it can ruin social skills, it uses your conversation to make itself seem a little more sentient.

now the thought that robots could take over the world doesn’t seem as unrealistic, don’t you think?

Morbid facts about Judy garland and “The wizard of oz”

Have you ever watched “the wizard of oz”? then you’ve probably seen the main character, Dorothy gale, she is played by Judy garland. she was an amazing actor, the media called her tragic, but in an interview her daughters say that she was fun and brought laughter.

In order to land the role of Dorothy, she starred in a minstrel movie, obviously minstrel shows are bad, outdated and offensive, but this was the 30s, anyway after her performance, she landed the role, when she was on set she was abused by directors and her co workers. she was forced to be on an awful diet of cigarettes, soup, and sleeping pills, pills to keep her awake, that eventually led to her death in 1969 of overdose. Judy had to wear a corset with her costume, corsets are known to give reduce lung capacity, give shortness of breath, organ deformity, and can even deform the rib cage.

On the set of “the wizard of oz” Judy was abused verbally, physically and mentally, an incident occurred in one of the scenes, Judy couldn’t stop laughing in a scene when she was supposed to be crying, so the director slapped her, she was constantly called names and told she “looked like a pig in pigtails” by many cast and crew. almost every actor on set made more than Judy, even the dog toto was being paid more.

The main problem with the wizard of oz is mostly, its controversial, the snow was made of asbestos which is know to cause lung cancer if inhaled, multiple people caught fire while filming, the original tin man was poisoned by his makeup and spent the rest of his days in an iron lung, overall it was a total train wreck.

why students should get coffee before morning classes (blogging the basics)

are you tired in the morning? most students at rci wake up at 7 or 8, and i assume most are tired, so we should have the option for coffee before our 9 am classes. i know its not the same for everyone, but coffee will make us more productive, and work more efficiently, i conducted an experiment, where i drank coffee for a week, then didn’t for the next, and on the first week i got most of my class work done, whereas when i didn’t i was struggling to stay awake.
